What OS does ForestFire run on?

ForestFire is built on Java JVM, and thus can run on pretty much every major operating system. We are developing on Linux and OSX. User interface is browser based so you can analyze source code with a modern browser, desktop or mobile.

What technologies are used in ForestFire?

In addition to JVM mentioned above, ForestFire is written in Java and Groovy. The application layer runs on Grails framework.

ForestFire comes with SCM support for Git and Mercurial, with SVN support provided via Git-SVN conversion. Writing your own SCM support is easy, our consultants can determine if the SCM you are using can provide the necessary information.

Is ForestFire open source?

Almost everything in ForestFire is built on open source software. The framework is not open source, but we will release large parts of the visualisation layer as a separate open source component for everyone to use.

We will also release presentation layer code that can be integrated to other software such as continuous integration servers or wiki software.
